Frequently Asked Questions

What can I scrape from Medium with this? You can scrape articles from any Medium tag or topic, any publication, any author profile, or a list of direct article URLs. One run can mix all four, and every article comes back with its title, author, publication, date, claps, responses, reading time, tags and optional full text.

How many articles can I get per tag, author or publication? Each tag, author and publication returns its most recent articles, and the Max Articles setting caps the total across every source in the run. To pull more, add several tags, publications or authors in a single run, or a list of specific article URLs.

Can I get claps, responses and reading time? Yes. Leave Fetch Article Stats on (the default) and each article is opened to add claps, responses, reading time, word count, subtitle, member-only flag, language and the resolved author and publication. Turn it off for a faster listing-only run.

Can I get the full text of each article? Turn on Include Full Article Text and each record includes the full plain-text body of the article in the fullText field, alongside all the metadata and stats.

What happens with member-only or missing articles? Member-only articles are flagged with isMemberOnly and still return their public metadata and stats. If an article cannot be loaded it is reported as a row with an error and is never counted as a result.
